A Review of @pwilson’s Plan B

We’ve all that moment, haven’t we?  We’d believed God was going to move in a very specific direction, so we risked it all to follow him only to discover that we were wrong.  God isn’t going to answer that prayer.  He isn’t going to bless that venture or guarantee that success.  So now what?

As a pastor, I’ve walked with numerous people through these types of situations.  As a (failed) church planter, I’ve experienced it more painfully than I care to admit.  So what do we do?

Pete Wilson answers the question by pointing us to Plan B: What to do when God doesn’t show up the way you thought he would.

In the book, he pulls together his experiences as a pastor with powerful Biblical narrative to help us see beneath the surface of our situations and into what God may in fact be doing though them – strengthening us, giving us hope, developing us for the future.

This book is a must read for every believer, because you will face this.  You will face a struggle in your life that causes you to question the goodness of God.  You will face the loss of your health, your family, your job, or something that will bring about a nagging doubt in the character or power of God.

Plan B gives you strong, Biblical reasons to hold onto Christ in the midst of that turmoil and to allow His will to become your own.

  1. I completely agree that it is a must read for believers. I told my wife that it is a book that we can mail people. For a long time we had been sending Crazy Love to those we know who were struggling, now we have another choice.
