Every year, we give gifts to family and friends as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Often our focus is directed toward the presents we’re given, or the gifts we give, but it has become far too common to forget to celebrate the gift of Christ. John 3:16 reminds us that, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” He is the greatest gift we could ever receive.
This year, we’re asking our church family to consider giving the first gift of the season to Jesus. This will allow our church more opportunity to share the gift of Jesus with more people in the upcoming year. And that is the greatest gift we could ever give. Take some time before the busyness of the holiday and ask God what he would have you or your family give as your first gift this year.
