Have you had problems with WordPress plugins?

that pretty much sums up my feelings

Thursday night, you may have had some problems accessing my blog.  I know because I couldn’t get to it.  I couldn’t pull it up and look at it, and I couldn’t pull it up to work on it.  Nothing. Nada.  According to Dreamhost, my site was being crawled by every creepy web-bot and search-bot out there (including some notorious spiders from China).

I contacted the only guy I knew could help.  (John, seriously, thanks dude.)  Somehow, and maybe one day he’ll be able to walk me through exactly what he did, he got it back without breaking a sweat.  He said that my backup had been causing the issues, so he deleted it explaining that it may have been hacked.

That would figure.

Anyway, I’m researching the plugins that I use and trying to determine if they may have created a security issue.  With that in mind, here are the plugins I’m using:

Has anyone had any issues with any of these WordPress plugins?  Or are there any plugins that you would recommend that we stay away from?

I got hacked through Intense Debate. @PeterPollock owns newbloghosting.com and that’s who hosts my various websites. I sent him a text and within a few minutes he had me up and running. I have since delted Intense Debate.
I use several of the plugins that you use. Are those the only ones you use?

That’s it. Because I prefer a clean look to my site (and The Standard Theme does most of the things I would use other plugins for), I don’t use that many.

that’s surprising about Intense Debate. I had a really good experience with them when I used blogger.

I’m not sure how it happened. I guess I have to use a few more because of my theme. I told April that Standard theme would make a good Christmas present. 🙂

especially if she clicks to Standard Theme through my website and I get the affiliate goodness 😉 It’s a win-win
